4.5 Roles and Responsibilities of Health and Mental Health Care Professionals
Health and Mental Health Care Professionals may:
- Work with individual families and assist them in meeting the safety and well being needs of their children;
- Collaborate with members of the community to provide care and support, and to prevent child abuse and neglect;
- Assist in assuring temporary protective custody of children (physicians);
- Identify children who have been or are being neglected and report their concerns to the appropriate authority.
