4.5 Roles and Responsibilities of Health and Mental Health Care Professionals

Health and Mental Care Professionals may:

Work with individual families and assist them in meeting the safety and well being needs of their children;
Collaborate with members of the community to provide care and support , and to prevent child abuse and neglect;
Assist in assuring temporary protective custody of children (physicians);
Identify children who have been or are being neglected and report their concerns to the appropriate authority.
