Effective January 1, 2006, the Drug Rebate Unit will no longer contact providers, submitting pharmacy claims, to correct those claims with an expired National Drug Code (NDC). If a claim with an expired NDC was submitted and paid, and the date of service is within one year, the claim will automatically be recouped. The provider will be responsible for resubmitting the claim(s) with the corrected NDC for reimbursement. The resubmission must fall within the MO HealthNet Timely Filing Regulation which states
"limit for resubmitting the corrected claim is no more than ninety (90) days from the date of the Remittance Advice, indicating the recoupment, or twelve (12) months from the date of service, whichever is longer".
