Director Makes Appointments to Children's Justice Act Task Force

Jefferson City – Department of Social Services (DSS) Director Deborah Scott announced the appointment of nine new members to the Missouri Children's Justice Act (CJA) Task Force. The 21 members of the board serve as advocates for improvements in the state's child welfare system by making recommendations on DSS policy and practices, family and juvenile court practices and collaborative efforts with community child welfare and other nonpublic entities.

The newest appointees are:

Jacqueline Cook, 48 of Belton, is the 17th Circuit Judge covering Cass and Johnson Counties.

Wanda Crocker, 38, of Jefferson City, is a supervisor for the Children's Division in Cole County.

Julie Eaton, 32, of Rogersville, is Director of Marketing for the YMCA of Springfield.

Tyrone Flowers, 36, of Kansas City, is an attorney, former foster child and founder of Higher M-Pact of Kansas City.

Ward Franz, 43, of West Plains, is a state representative serving the 151st District.

Carolyn Green, 57, of Sedalia, is executive director of Child Safe of Central Missouri.

Michelle Hilbert, 38, of Jefferson City, is a Cole County foster parent.

Lacy Kendrick, 23, of Nixa, is a student at Missouri State University, former foster child and member of the State Youth Advisory Board.

Timothy King, Kirksville, is a law enforcement officer and foster and adoptive parent.
