Blunt Makes Appointments to State Boards and Commissions

Jefferson City – Gov. Matt Blunt announced appointments of members who will serve on several boards, commissions and councils.

Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board

Derek E. Conard, 47 of St. Joseph, is director of residential services for the Fifth Judicial Circuit. Mr. Conard holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration from Missouri Western State University. His reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 7, 2009.

Roy E. Dameron, 70 of Jefferson City, is retired from the Division of Child Support Enforcement. Mr. Dameron holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Central Missouri State College. His appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 7, 2010.   

Carol W. Gasser, 46 of St. Charles, is a staff counselor, LPC at the Center for Biblical Counseling and Education. Ms. Gasser holds a bachelor’s degree in medical technology from Auburn University and master’s in counseling from Covenant Theological Seminary.  Her appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 7, 2008.   

Dr. Wayne D. Graves, 57 of Kansas City, is a physician at Cornerstone Family Care. Dr. Graves holds a bachelor’s degree from Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee and doctorate from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. His appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 7, 2009.

Stephen G. Sanders, 43 of Kansas City, is the owner of the Law Offices of Stephen Sanders. Mr. Sanders holds a bachelor’s degree in religious education from Southwest Baptist University, master’s in divinity from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and juris doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. His appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 7, 2010.

Dr. Kristin A. Thomas-Sohl, 28 of Columbia, is a resident physician in pediatrics at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Dr. Thomas-Sohl holds a bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry and psychology and doctorate in medicine from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Her appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 7, 2009.

State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors

Daniel T. Mahn (D), 37 of Desoto, is the owner of Mahn Funeral Home, Mahn Twin City Chapel, Peaceful Ridge Cemetery and Mausoleum and Mahn Real Estate Company. Mr. Mahn is a graduate of Mid America College. His appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 1, 2012.

State Rehabilitation Council

Tracey A. Gunn, 26 of St. Louis, is a project manager at U.S. Bancorp Community Development Corporation. Ms. Gunn holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Washington University. Her appointment is for a term ending on March 11, 2008.

Mary D. Stodden, 55 of St. Charles, is a librarian at St. Charles High School. Ms. Stodden holds a bachelor’s degree in history and library science from Morningside College and master’s in library and information science from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Her appointment is for a term ending on March 11, 2010.
