DSS Foster Child Giving Tree Arrives at Columbia Mall

Jefferson City – Today, the Boone County Department of Social Services' (DSS) Children's Division put up its Foster Child Giving Tree in the JC Penney wing of the Columbia Mall to give community members the opportunity to help nearly 200 children in foster care. The Foster Child Giving Tree has been a part of the holidays in Boone County for more than 20 years. Community members interested in purchasing clothing and holiday gifts for foster children in Boone County have until December 9 to place gifts for children under the tree. The Giving Tree will be in operation during mall business hours outside JC Penney.
