Programs and Services

  • Children

The department believes that a safe and permanent home with family members is the best place for a child to grow up. Communities who support families with housing, jobs, social and educational needs create strong healthy families. Families need to make key decisions regarding their children's needs and that a cohesive system of child-focused, family-centered, community oriented, timely and accountable services provides the best support for children and their families.

  • Family Support

Assistance programs help keep families together and help ensure a normal family life for children. Assistance grants, job training programs, child care all work together to end the need for assistance by getting parents off welfare and working to provide for their families.

  • Health Care

MO HealthNet and MO HealthNet for Kids are health care programs which emphasize personal wellness, prevention, and responsibility and increase access to healthcare for our most needy and vulnerable citizens. This includes families, children, women who are pregnant, and individuals who are blind, disabled, or age 65 or older.

  • Juvenile Justice

View information regarding the care and treatment of youth committed to custody by one of the 45 Missouri juvenile courts. The Division of Youth Services operates treatment programs ranging from non-residential day treatment centers through secure residential institutions.
